This is probably going to come across as a really stupid question, and I'm probably going to be considered a noob forever. But here it goes:

"My friend wants to play my game and I built it into an executable file. I uploaded, he downloaded, and when he ran it, it didn't work. All he got was a black screen. How do I fix this?"

Did you supply only the built .exe or the entire folder of your game?

The black screen and no error normally means that the exe is running but there is no media to display. When you distribute your game, you must distribute all the associated media and files that are in the game folder.

If you want your game to be a single exe file, you'll need to use a third party app to wrap it all up.

look for "fpsc launcher" and "fpsc packer" with forum-search,

you will find progs like SG-Launcher by Doomster, or the "legendary" combination of Vishnu Packer & Launcher, as well as the new V-Packer on the top of the board.

just for info: to stay to the rules of FPSC you HAVE TO make your media and code save BEFORE offering to anyone, look into the prog disclaimer in your fpsc-folder and manual.
