Original First Post

Hi!

Some of you might know that I take requests for FPSC Media and Models. A few weeks ago Bugsy requested a larger amount of Cyberpunk Models and some basic props for his huge cityscapes and rooftop levels. We talked about it and decided to work together on a big pack with tons of entities for a cyberpunk city.

If you are wondering what "Cyberpunk" is: Watch the movie Bladerunner.

I do all the models and graphics and Bugsy animates the weapons for this pack.

I can show you some early screenshots of the first couple of textured models. These aren't cyberpunk scenery yet and can be used in any kind of city level.

I'm sorry for the incredibly dull screenshots but as some of you might know: I don't have that much time lately

AC Systems for rooftops

This thread will be updated on regulary. I know it doesn't look like much for now, but I have some really funky props in the oven that will be shown soon.

Ideas, additional requests and feedback is warmly welcome and desired

Wow! That's awesome!
I particularly like the overpass.

Insanity is doing the same thing everyday, same job, same route, same people and thinking 'Today will be different', thinking that over and over again. But not doing anything different.

Thanks folks!

Here are some editor shots of the overpasses. They come in different sizes

This lamp has a 256*256 texture.

Will be included aswell

Hey guys,

Sorry if this has clearly already been answered but I am at work and this screen is smaller, so I maybe missing something. Will this be a pack that can be purchased?

Also, as a suggestion, I would love to see more sci-fi huds like in Syndicate, Deus Ex etc. Preferably huds that do not require trigger zones to activate and such (reasons which I will explain if need be) I feel good quality sci-fi huds are lacking (even though there are some good free ones out there) just my suggestion.

I can do these in a heartbeat...I would need more information though. Feel free to E-Mail me about it.

It is a commercial pack so it would be quiet an undertaking to keep track of contributed media and figure out payment methods and percentage per sale ... and stuff like that.

So you can of course do some Cyberpunkstuff if we gave you some ideas but I won't include it in this pack.

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys!

here a few holographic sign projectors for the sides of buildings. Those asian fontings here are of course only alpha's. There will be many more included in the released pack.
The texture layout is very simple aswell so you can add your own fonting.

some lowpoly nighttime cyberpunk buildings good for backgrounds due to low polys, but also for foregrounds due to high quality textures and prominent illuminationmaps. make for excellent lightsources.

Send some shots too TGC. If you have a good amount of media, they'll make you an offer.

Bugsy

Just a few Tips:

A 'tidy' directory folder structure helps a lot when putting a large Model Pack together (for yourself and the users of the Pack).
NOTE - Avoid putting too many folders within folders.
NOTE - Its best to group your corresponding media into a single folder (one for segments section, one for entity section...)with the name of your Pack (keep this as short as possible).

Keep 'address's' (in the FPE and FPS files) as short as possible by avoiding long names for the media.

Try to keep 'all' the media 'Icons' looking the same (White backrounds) with sharp clear images (not always possible).

When the Pack is finally compiled 'TEST EVERYTHING' one more time just to avoid having to supply any 'Fix Patch's' at a later date.

Compile a short 'Contents List' of the media in the Pack and also a seperate file with a short 'Description' of the Pack which you would like to see on the final web site page.
NOTE - I just use 'NotePad' but check the spelling and Grammer is correct.

Supply a folder with some clean 'screen shots' which should be 640x480 in size.

Video
If possible, compile a video of some of the media (in game) then upload it to a video site (Youtube,Vimeo...) and then just supply the 'address' of the video to TGC along with your other 'Document' type stuff.

I recommend constructing a 'PDF' Manual for the Pack if there is any extra or specific information you would like the users of the Pack to know about which also helps cutting down too many unnecessary questions being posted.

Packing All Final Media before Submitting to TGC
NOTE- Create an 'exact' copy (empty folders) of the FPSC 'Files' directory and then place 'your' final media folders to the corresponding locations where they should be 'within' this.
X1 Folder containing your 'Documents' stuff (Contents List,Description,Video address,Pdf Manual....)
x1 'Screenshots' Folder
'Put all of these into a single folder with your Packs name and 'zip' it up for uploading.

Overall, its best to have 'All' this media together (ready and tested) before you submit it to TGC for sale.

I hope this helps and wish you both the best of luck with the Pack.

Cheers
Ross

I thought I recognized a couple of segments and such. I couldn't remember where; but, now, I know and when I saw your game (sorry I didn't comment there), I was envious of the models.

I welcome any criticism you have that doesn't effect me. I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

Lets not sell a hooker we haven't kidnapped yet. I'm only done with a few basic props so far.

@Ross: I appreciate your list as you already published some stuff. (I just assume that those Dungeon Modelpacks are made by you...it looks that way)

I pretty much had everything planned like this except for the video...which is a good idea but its work...you would have to edit it and... yeah! I let Bugsy do that

Just joking...we'll see once we are far enough with this project to tell. I ,for one, have another update on this scheduled for this week.

This stuff is very cool, another heads up if you intend to make it official, you dont use the default folders for FPSC file structure eg: entitybank/scfi/.
You must create your own folders within the structure, use paths like segments/cyberpunk/ or texturebank/cyberpunk/ they don't want creators using the default folders. This will save you a lot of headaches with file paths etc when you release it later.
Your fine of course with entity's if you keep all textures and meshes etc within the one folder as you can name this anything you like and change it at any time, just if you intend to do any segments or whatever. Same goes for scripts though create your own folder within scriptbank at start so you dont have to go changing file paths in fpe's afterwards.

Oh!.. and that skybox looks really cool with this stuff...would recommend desaturating it a little though to fit with the media.

Awesome! Its one of those threads.
