I made this generator in Java, and decided to convert it to DBPro, and now I give it to you.

It generates a random dungeon with rooms, doors, and corridors. It has several layout options like Scattered, Dense, and Sparse.

You can also create special layouts by applying various masks like Square, Plus, or Cross.

Have fun!

Thank you, enderleit!

Is your generator scaleable? For example, can you say "make a dungeon that is 50x50 squares with rooms no larger than 5x5? Or is it all fixed?

Yes, it's scaleable. You can modify just about any parameters, like mapSize, min/max roomSize, corridor bendyness, layouts, etc...

Interesting... Are you thinking of making it available for license? Malevolence could benefit from something like that...

Just so you are all aware... it might not be 100% bug free yet, so be careful before releasing anything using it.

Here's an example of it in action...

Probably crappy fps and buggy.

PS. You can't open doors.

PPS. I don't really do/like web development, so no... This was not made for a web applet.

Excellent work... I'm gonna turn my level generation algorithm into a DBP plugin soon.

Is it a dungeon generator similar to this? Or something different.

Yeah, it's similar, creates rooms and corridors.

3D Level Generation - Snippets and all the information there. I've actually just transferred all my old code from opengl to Dark GDK and getting it ready for a plugin now. Hopefully should be a plugin pretty soon.

It's all in C/C++, but if you're interested just email me and I can send you over the project.

Can i use your generator in my new game?

I have adapted it to be portrayed in ASCII and will provide a picture down below. I have also added some other elements like stairs and made the doors intractable.

At the moment, it comes up with your name in the Battle log at the start of the program but as the game is hopefully going to be a huge Rouge RPG, that will change to being on a credits screen.

At the moment the game is playable as it has a depth meter and you can navigate but no monsters as of yet (going to be changed tomorrow)!

Ok, attached a photo of a explored part of the dungeon and a yellow line telling of how i got to the down stairs

Please get back to me with an answer and i hope you like the look of this small summer project!

Go right ahead.

Sorry for the late answer, haven't been using DB for a while...
