Hello there, I know, I dont post here very often, mostly because I dont use DarkBasic as much anymore, but I do read a lot on this forum, and I have to say, you people are WAY too obsessed with your post counts!

Do you want to guess what my post count is? It's a measly 150, but that doesn't make me inferior!

I bet that I've been using DarkBasic longer than 97% of the people here. I've been through about 4 or 5 DB forums I think, and I dont think my post count ever exceeded 500 on any of them.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that you people need to stop waisting database space by posting threads like "My post count is.."

Thank you for letting me speak my mind, that is all

BTW, if you don't recognize me, I used to be called "Nazca"

I agree that post counts don't mean much, but for some people that's all we got. (j/k)

This is exactly why we need some kinda kudos system. Except only the mods can give out points for these specific instances.

-Moderating team request forums(telling people to read rules, etc.)
-Creating nice 3D media
-Creating nice 2D media
-Helpful C&C ("Wow, that's great", doesn't count)
-Useful code snippets(In code snippet forum and codebase)
-Helping anwsering New user's questions

Well, that's all I can think of right now.

Hopefully, if we had some sort of system that would encourage more help, things could start rolling.(Post count is pretty much useless, just something nice to have.)

Now you ask "How the heck will kudos help me?"

Well, if you take the time to help others, I think you deserve to be recognized. The more kudos you have, the more people can look up to you as someone to ask for help.

There's really no perfect system, but these are just my thoughts.

Well, that's all

You think we have enough time to mark your homework too?

Hmmm ... my post count is coming close to 3000 now

Anyway, who says that a post count of anything makes you superior or inferior? I haven't seen anything of the sort.

Wrong forum there pal. If you wanna see people obsessed with post count, go to Rogue Squadron dot net's forum. Mattman's the only guy that talked about his post count here, and that was a while ago.

Lol, I see your point.

"Please, give me kudos"

"WTF!!?!?!?, my post was more helpful then his."

I can just imagine these kinds of posts. Best thing would probebly be to keep things just how they are.

I just feel sorry for the little gremlin who has to do all the post counting, especially seeing as gremlins only have 3 fingers and the memory span of a goldfish.

Not a good idea, it's rough enough there allready without people trying to get "blam" points.

Honestly, I see little need for any kind of kudos system, after posting for a week here, you kinda figure out who knows there stuff and who's the poser.

@Mattman: Pipe down, I got more post counts than you (far more useful and/or interesting ones at that) yet I don't go around braging about it, hell only time I check is when someone brings it up. Don't make me post Raven post count, if you go souly off them to prove your worth, Raven's a God, I think he even has Rich beat.

[edit]by the way I'm joking around on that last bit, so don't get all bent out of shape over it.

Post counts start to mean something when they are connected to a status title.

0 = Newbi
100 = DB user
500 = Addict
1000 = God

Otherwise they mean nothing.

Pincho.
