So I have a few lines of code where the rest is fine, but on line 3 of this chunk this says syntax error.

What is the error?

Hah, my signature is meaningless.

Yeah, what WLGfx said.

Not sure if this was a simple mistake all programmers make once in a while, or if it was because you are new to programming. If it's the latter...when a command includes a "$" behind it, that usually means that it deals with strings. Strings must ultimately be defined by putting quotes around whatever it is you are looking for, or using a variable followed by a "$".
