If FPSCX10 is no longer supported and sold, couldn't TGC release all of its exclusive assets as a free or paid model pack for X9? Kind of a "goodbye" letter, so it's not an entire loss.

You know what @Gibba gobba, I was thinking the exact same thing as you when I heard X10 was discontinued. I might also contact Lee later to see if I could release some X10 files so X10 would become a free addon for X9. I even have a version of X10 on my hard drive with around 1/3 of X9's new commands implemented, but due to problems, it will never be released, and I can't get it to compile anymore because of some missing code that I can't find. I do hope they release a model pack though.

When I first read this thread I thought you were wrong, but checking it looks like TGC have stop selling X10. I wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't posted this. Good spot.

Yea would make more sense for TGC to sell the assets as they were pretty cool.

I contacted TGC about making a model pack. They told me it would be impossible because the shaders are incompatible.

But you don't have to have shaders, I use them in DarkGDK just fine without shaders.

under preferences in x9 they should have an option for x10 then, that way the shaders will self apply themselves or something. basically putting them both in one program

I get it. why is everyone worry about now that it is dead. but when the software was well alive no one cared for it or had a computer that can run it. I dont see the point of this.Fpscx10 was a great program but it has many issues and due to the lack of support these issues are not fix. which is one of the reason I stop using it. anyone with fpscx10 can get fpscx9 for free and you will have no worry on model packs not working. I just dont understand everyone talk so bad about fpscx10 and now that it is gone you all wonder why it been Discontinued. if anything I would Lee would rebuild fpsc under dx11 and combine both features from fpscx9 and fpscx10 into it. there are two things fpscx9 does have that would have been cool. being able to change the sky box on the fly and control the shader effects on the fly. that also include water and ambiance. but the new fpsc would also be backwards compatible meaning it can run under dx9 as well. but as far fpscx10 do it dead. time to move forward.

more than what meets the eye

well yea it does have its issues, but if they had continued support they would be fixed and it would maybe surpass x9. i just want x9 to have x10 features. like water and rag doll without heavy scripting.

Don't wish for it. A couple more "cool" features and FPSC X9 falls completely apart.

That's quite an overstatement.
