Been getting back into Fpsc and modeling lately and decided to do a Minecraft FPS Creator pack for the community (MineCreator)

I've only manage to do some blocks and a torch, i'm hoping to do skybox's entitys segments and prefabs.

Block scale is 33.3 that gives you 3 blocks to 1 fps creator segment.

This is a community pack so anyone can add to it so lets get crafting. This FPS Creator model pack will be free to download for non commercial purposes, Mojang Minecraft specification.

very nice idea. using the new magnet/gravity-gun-feature with low range could be a nice effect for building.

oh, and welcome back

Mojang have copyrighted... some cubes ? If it's that, it's a shame, it's really excessive

Excuse my grammar errors, I'm French.

The screenshot you have of the "cubes" in the FPSC environment look almost like the real thing Unfortunately, there may be an issue that needs to be dealt with.

The following are taken from the MineCraft Terms of Use page:

Quote: "You're free to do whatever you want with screenshots and videos of the game, but don't just rip art resources and pass them around, that's no fun."

Quote: "If you wish to make something pertaining to anything we've made we're humbled, but please make sure that it can't be interpreted as being official. Do not make commercial use of anything we've made."

The first quote is clear. The second quote is where the gray area for some lie. If you are making what is called "fan-based" media, then you can do it for yourself; but if you plan to distribute said media to a public forum (such as here) you may need to:

1. Obtain written permission from Mojang that they acknowledge and grant permission of your idea.

2. Contact TGC and provide them with the permission obtained and ask if you may provide this on their forum/site.

3. If steps 1 and 2 are done, then you would also need to provide said permission from both companies to the end user to protect everyone, considering that we all live around the globe and laws vary from country to country. This also protects not only TGC and Mojang, but you as the developer.

If you are being questioned on the work, then it has been interpreted as being official. If your pack contents look like the real thing or are interpreted as the real thing, then you can't distribute it without the required permissions.

Based on your screenshot on your site, the textures look almost like the real thing, and therefore the interpretation could be there for some.

Ok thanks Blackfox, to stop this post getting into a flambate im gonna scrap this idea and just use my own cartoon style MC textures insted on other thread.

This was never ment to be an official fpscreator MC pack and I dont want to get into the mombojumbo of things but i may just contact mojang to see what they say!

So until then can admin lock this please

I know this is not an official MC pack, but the point I was trying to make is that someone may interpret that. To cover yourself, it is best to get permission(s) from both Mojang and TGC. Dot your I's and cross your T's, so-to-speak. I know it can be frustrating, but I brought this up only to protect not only the community members, but you as well. Sometimes things are not black-and-white, and we need to be sure that no lines have been crossed when doing developments. That also means we have to wade into the "thick" of the legalities.
