I will be finishing my map tonight and posting it for all to see. I know that I don't stand a chance in this competition, but I'm not entering to win. Odd, but I'm entering to sharpen my level-designing skills.

Anyhow, pic coming this evening.

@rolfy, thanks for the prize contribution. I've added it to the list.

@Everyone; great work so far on the entries, guys. This is going to be a very hard competition for Bugsy to judge. Still a few more days to go for anyone still working on their entries.

I'm still trying to get a good screen for the competition, but I'm really rusty and, as I said, barely have anything cyberpunkish.

Here's my entry. Not the best, but again, I'm entering primarily to enhance my level design abilities. Enjoy!

I reached a point where FPSC started to refuse lightmapping the scene. I had a little more pipes and wiring but I had to revise. Oh well. Here you go.

It's water. I made it as if though it has recently rained. Roads and concrete are still wet.

Thanks. I felt I could have done a little more but no need in messing with it anymore.

Here's mine. Not bad for my first map in Lord knows how long, but I don't think it's a very good Cyberpunk one.

I'll give a brief story to this:
The "Good Doctor" has been taken by the oppressive police force at last, after months of stealing medicine meant for soldiers and police from the government, and giving the meds to the needy.

Edit: Made with x10, of course!

The Winner is:
ASTEK
For a darn nearly flawless screenshot that captures the very essence of what i meant by cyberpunk. I must say, I literally couldn't do it better myself if I tried. fantastic work ASTEK

Second Place:
Bestorio
For a truly inspiring screenshot and proof that largely stock and free media isn't an excuse for a poor screen at all. the picture captured the essence of a dark cyberpunk look and evoked feelings of opression with it's illuminated towers cresting black skies.

Third Place:
Doomster
For a gorgeous, largely custom screenshot that could be found in any current gen scifi game. It just wasn't quite what I was looking for

Everyone Else:
@Thek-
Lovely image, and truly excellent graphical quality, just not quite as "cyberpunk" as I'd hoped, however it was very "chronicles of riddick" which i much enjoyed

@Slayer267-
Too large, officially I can't consider yours.

@Levi Barros-
I loved the skyboc and lighting colour, however the dynamics stuck out a bit and the scene itself was a bit of a theme identity crisis

@Northern-
A great looking city scape that suffered due to lack of any lighting at all

@DarkJames-
I'd have preferred to see more from this. there was more you could've done, and perhaps let me see some more of the outside, but I liked it as it was, and felt it was a good style of indoor cyberpunk. this or thek's would have been my fourth place

@CyberChris-
This screen would have placed if there had been no lightmapping errors on the walls, and you had let us see some city above the roof, as well as some more futuristic appeal. the club shown could exist today.

@getsfile-
Truly excellent screenshot, however it was a bit too abandoned to really look like a cyberpunk picture. it seems like an empty movie set more than a real city. The models were nice, however, and the atmosphere was pretty. It was a great screenshot, just not a great cyberpunk screenshot.

@scene commander-
I enjoyed all the signs and the large number of people present, however it looked like a modern day town with the arcitecture, and the lighting suffered a bit.

@relmayer-
quite the enjoyable atmosphere, as well as the view out the window, I just feel like you didn't let me see enough to win. it was a very small corner of a room, however good looking it may be.

@Leon Kennedy
That screenshot suffered from lackluster lighting, and a bit of an issue as it only became really "cyberpunk" at the end of the street, and not much. This is good practice, however.

@Le Shorte
The screenshot was adequately cyberpunk, and I'll admit I very much enjoyed the idea of a story behind it, however the lights were placed a bit poorly as to overdarken the bottoms of the objects in the room whilst still illuminating the floor.

Well, very good job on this, ASTEK. Congratulations!

This was one pretty nice competition! Probably will be around for the next one (the next screenshot might fit better in the theme than this one...).

@Bugsy: Thanks for the feedback. While I can envision something in my mind, I have a hard time getting into FPSC. Therefore, I enter only for the practice.

And I had no doubt who the winner would be once Astek submitted his shot. Nice job!

This was probably my favorite screenshot competition yet. A lot of great entries. I wasn't sure who Bugsy was going to pick for this one.

@AZTEK, nice work. Contact me for your 5 GC Store selections from my account if you're interested. Also, let me know if you would like to judge/pick the theme of the next competition. Make sure the email address you use matches the one in your profile for verification. You'll also need to contact rolfy and Bugsy for their prize contributions.

Hi RelMayer,

Any single GC Store item that's listed within any of those specific folders. By "bundle", I meant that some of the items in the store (such as the Training Walls or the Cabin) are sold as one single item, however they are bundled together in a pack of multiple assets. But the "pack" is still considered 1 GC Store asset in this case. Hope this helps.

Hello all,

Congratulations to the winners of this competition, Astek, Bestorio and Doomster as well as all other participants with their very nice screenshots.

I must confess that the night scene with its lighmap on Astek's screenshot was one of the most beautiful I've ever seen on this forum so far. Pretty nice artwork indeed.

Thanks a lot to Bugsy and The Zombie Killer for their comments and suggestions regarding my screenshot. In fact, the morning fog hampered the scene becoming it matte greatly decreasing the texture contrast, but I was already too much tired to fix it, and also I was worry with the deadline because it was almost ending.

Anyway, it was nice to participate in this challenging theme of this competition.

Greetings,

@Kravenwolf: While I understand that all entrants are to receive a model from your store account, I will respectfully decline. Why? Well, as I stated previously, I entered only to get feedback and hopefully learn something about level design. I knew I wasn't going to win, so I didn't enter in the hopes of doing so.

All in all, I loved the contest and hope I can learn from what I did this time in the next one. Speaking of which - when is the next one? What is the theme?

He said next Tuesday and I get to pick the theme so I'm going to start thinking on it. If I can't think of anything worth-while, I will see what Kravenwolf suggests.

@ Everyone

Thanks for all the great comments. Honestly, I had doubts to a degree when finally uploading it. I think this contest was so good because I've always loved games with great cyberpunk-punk scenery but never attempted to create something myself. With full-screen shaders, improved lightmapping, and all the works through all the upgrades, FPSC can really make some amazing scenes.

If its okay, I would like the Canvas Crates pack. If you are going to email them to me then I'd like to suggest that you use this email address:

I will later today from the email address I gave Rolfy.

Thanks again everyone! It was some worthy competition. I hope the next compo can be just as good.
