hey guys, I have a really important question to ask you.

I recently made a Google Sketchup model (a static entity), and I wanted to test it out, and use it in my game.

I used Entity Maker to import the direct-x (.x) files from Sketchup, and into my entity library. While the Model itself appears successful, the textures that I place it with in Sketchup don't appear in the game.

How do I resolve this issue?

white nontexture are missing textures, so check texturepath (for entities best to place it in the same folder as the x-file, NOT in texture-folder) and if textureformat is ok (.dds).

You're going to have to UV map it. The best way to do that, I find, is to go to http://www.uvmapper.com/downloads.html and download UVMapper Classic, then import a .obj version of your model, UV Map it (Google a tutorial for that), and then re-export your obj to a programme such as Fragmotion. Take your texture map you've created with UVMapper and paste in the textures from Sketchup using an image editor such as GIMP, Photoshop, Fireworks, Paint.NET, CorelDraw (or anything you like really), and then apply the texture you've created to your model in Fragmotion. There's usually adjustments to be made at this point, so you go backwards and forwards between your image editor and Fragmotion until you have a working model. Export the texture to the texturebank (or entitybank, it doesn't matter) and your model over your old .x model. Set the path for the texture in your .fpe, and Robert's your dad's brother.

I have problems trying to export the file in Sketchup to a .obj format: only the Professional version can do it, not the Classic version.

Any other suggestions?

try fragmotion to convert to obj-files, its free for a prayer and supports many formats.

That would be best. It's fine so long as you're Christian and don't mind using the American version of the Lord's Prayer.
