I've installed DirectX 9.0 August 2007,
I have Visual Studio 2008 Professional,
and I've linked the libraries.
The problem is when I run the first program called
circles.cpp all I get is a pop-up window with a blank screen.
My video card is burned out but VGA is working...
btw I am using "Gamea & Graphics in C++" by Tony Gaddis.
How do I fix the problem?

So long as you have installed everything in the correct order:

. Install Visual Studio 2008 Express and run once to initialise directories.
. Install DirectX 9 Aug 2007
. Install Dark GDK

The run once is very important as this allow the other SDK's to find and link to the correct directories.

The book should at least have references, but I did find this website - http://wps.aw.com/aw_gaddis_games_1/114/29318/7505573.cw/index.html
Which seems to hold all the media and source files included that go with the book.

I downloaded the code and it doesn't help with certain programs.
for example I cannot load a bitmap picture it makes a blank screen.
