DarkGDK 2.0 utilizes a different code base than DarkGDK 1.0 and as such the previous releases of DarkGDK .NET will not longer be compatible.

I have been given the task of taking up the reigns for supporting DarkGDK 2.0 as a full TGC-branded product. However, I do not have any previous experience with .NET products. Because of this, the current incarnation of DarkGDK 2.0 does not have native .NET support. However, this can change with your help!

The requirements are that you be familiar with the process required to port C++ code to C# and/or VB.NET. I can make myself available over Skype or other IM clients to assist in the conversion process.

DarkGDK 2.0 has been designed from the ground up to be easily ported to other programming languages. Therefore expect the code required for the transition to range somewhere between 800 to 1200 lines of code (easy!). Rebuilding all of the OO classes as well will take some additional effort beyond this.

Feel free to post a reply here or contact me directly at matt@darkgdk.com.

This is also a fantastic opportunity for you DarkGDK .NET people who may have always wanted to see some new features which were previously unavailable.

See here for more information on DarkGDK 2.0:

Mistrel, Did you get any reply to this? Can we expect a VB .NET version any time soon?

Sorry I don't know enough to help but would like to know we can expect it one day

If you still need someone in three weeks (after exams) I will be happy to help. I have lots of experience in C++, C++/CLR and .net, and I ported an early version of DarkGDK to .net some time ago. I will also have a large amount of free time

+1 to that. I love DarkGDK.NET but it is pretty buggy (not sure if thats due to DarkGDK) and poorly documented so if this can give it some new life it would be grate seeing the work that's gone into V2

I would also like to add I don't know C# so I would be working exclusively with porting everything to VB. I am really excited about getting this started. I'll be emailing you my info.

That only seems to work with the C++ compilers at the moment. At least that's what it says on the site.

Hello guys!

I've been MIA for a long time, hehe.

I can totally help you out. As some of you may know, I was the original developer (along with MudBug when it started) of the DGDK.NET Class Library (when it was known as LightEngine). I am well aware of how it was.

If you want, you can contact me about it. The guys from TGC do know me from "previous bussiness"

Best regards!
Thiago
