Has this been done before? I really like how the immersion never breaks in the half life games because of the loading system. I tried the search bar but there was nothing on the between level loading system.

I don't have enough self-discipline to have any games to
display here. >:

I think it will be theoretically possible. I assume it will require you to merge the Scripts of both the winzone (quitting the level) and the loading process and than open the new level. To create such a fast loading like half-life and create the immersion, you would have to create a impossible amount of small levels, because of FPSC's loading time while loading larger levels on a moderate PC/Mac.
Which would preforming the above nearly impossible.

(Atleast that is what I think, Don't have much experience with FPSC)

You could take a photo of the level ahead, assuming the player looks forward, blur it slightly and slap that in for the loading photo.

It used to be that you could remove the background command from the loading screen script and the last frame wouldn't be entirely overridden - you'd see the "Loading" prompt and progress bar, but still have what you were seeing before behind it. This worked because the screen wasn't being entirely redrawn and may or may not work in current versions.

At any rate, there will still probably be the eye-opening animation at the beginning of the next level so the transition will be far from perfect.
