Post your direct link to the image between

I'm sorry but I don't understand what you mean. I have the screenshot on my pc, but I can't copy and paste it to the post - I don't have a www.myurl.com or anything like it. Please excuse me for being dumb about this.

In order to display an image directly in a post, it must exist somewhere reachable on the web using a regular URL as in kamac's second code snippet.

But once you have added the image as an attachment, you can then click the view button, copy the url of the image, go back to your post, edit it and insert it as in image.

That is pretty cool.

Thanks for the tip Rich!

Of course, that would only work for one image per post?

It also means that anyone who isn't logged in can't see your image.

I didn't know that. I always use that method. In chrome to get the link you need to right click on the view button and select "Copy link address" then paste that in.

The view button trick is very commonly used in this forum. It's the easiest way to get your images to your post. Downside is of course one image per post. But I do comment on the images I upload so no biggie. I think you can sign up to some free cloud storage service like drive.google.com or box.com etc. Then upload your images there and use the img tags.

I use ImageShack, just upload your image, then obtain the link and post it in your thread... Simple and free...

Setup your own webserver if you have a machine that's online 24/7, that's what I did, I put my pictures there, then link them to the forum. If my server explode, noone will see the pictures again... that's the downside
