Hi, I see a PS tutorial in the guide, is there one for Paint.net? I can't seem to get the transparency right.

Also, does it make a difference if they are static or not in game?

Thanks

there are so many possibilitys!!! the easiest one is:
1. make a new image
2. press strg a and then strg x
3. paint your overlay
4. safe it as .png its the best format for beginners!

Yes, i´m a noob, but i like it

"press strg a and then strg x"

What is that? I am not familiar with "strg". Do you mean "Ctrl"?

I tried that, saved it as a .png. Signs won't take the png when I make it and when I save it as a .tga the transparent part comes out black.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks

@TechGirl
STRG is the German counterpart for CTRL. So, yes, he means CTRL.

You need to add a 'Alpha Channel' to your texture but I don't use Paint .net so you will need to check the programs Help file about this.
'Signs' does have a transparancy option if I remember correctly which should work OK with 'Black' areas when ticked.

The Zombie Killer - "STRG is the German counterpart for CTRL. So, yes, he means CTRL."

That's interesting, thanks for the info.

Ross tra damus - Yes, I noticed (after I posted) that I had an older version (trial) of Signs that would not allow the transparency option to be clicked. That was the problem.

I used another program to make the overlay in and it worked fine.

Thanks
