I'm thinking of making a turn-based battle game, set in WWII. I will use only ASCII characters so as a bit of fun I made some flags!
[code updated]

I will be making ones for all the major powers. I don't know if I'm going to actually base this on WWII or just use it as a theme.

I am going to make this a pure strategy game, like chess, where there is no random element.

Nice flags.

I had a go at doing a small Japanese flag. It's not easy is it? This is my best attempt, still not very good though.

@OBese-

I would recommend using a function to print strings with certain colors assigned to certain characters. This would allow for the ASCII flags to be a lot easier to make out.

What I mean is that different flags should be drawn with different sets of colors.

That's what I did.

I don't know, it looks to me like you are using the same colors for each flag. There are only about 100 printable characters available, and millions of potential monitor colors. What I mean is using palleitte swapping to provide a different pallout for each flag.
