I thought you all might find this article informative and/or amusing. It talks about how companies making mobile games test on a variety (in some cases hundreds!) of Android devices. Not something your single developer are micro-sized team could afford to do; certainly not me!

The link is from Techcrunch.

It would be interesting if they said what the most common problems were. Any ideas?

I would think:
1) screen resolution
2) processor power
3) Android version conflicts
4) touch screen speed

Maybe that's where the community here comes in. For example, I've got a Zenithink ZTPad tablet. Display 10.1" 1024x600. 1 Ghz Cortex A9. Android 4.0.3 rooted.

I'm happy to test WIP or finished games on this (including signing an NDA) - but installable signed or debug APKs only - not source code!
