PICK SCREEN : PICK SCREEN Screen X, Screen Y, Distance
GET PICK DISTANCE : Return Float=GET PICK DISTANCE()
GET PICK VECTOR X : Return Float=GET PICK VECTOR X()
GET PICK VECTOR Y : Return Float=GET PICK VECTOR Y()
GET PICK VECTOR Z : Return Float=GET PICK VECTOR Z()

Check the codebase, I think I saw a 3d mouse snippet on there thats just been posted recently (itll be near the top) which would be suited to an RTS.

alot of RTS are based on 2D etc...
Also, using 2D plins could greatly improve your FPS... just a thought...

After lookign at the code that Phaelex just refrenced to... I think that using plains would help greatly, just animate them, and set transparency on them...
