You can use any kind of script actually; although, I'm not sure what you mean -- exactly. What is textease?

TextEase... made by ExploSoft. It allows people to make scripts with ease using the FPGCRAW text commands.

I created a talk script with text ease, now on the character sheet of an unarmed character,do I use the script in the main, start or destroy? I tried it on main but it didn't work at all. I walked up on character and no text showed up.
Can anybody help?

The scripts for TextEase are generally used with triggers or dynamic objects. You can use one in an unarmed character. It is assigned to the main script.

Just a hunch... The reason it may not work for you is because of the "distance" the player is in relation to the character. If you have a "plrdistwithin=x" in your script, you may need to increase the distance value to something like 100 or more.

I shall now vanish... before Bruce gets here... again.

Let's see your script and maybe we can help. Also let us know what character. I assume you place the character, assign the script to the main script, and it should "do" something when the player comes up to it.

Looks like your problem is covered ricketts.

I do remember this app now. It is pretty cool; even for those who are experienced. I had CRL problems with the Search and Rescue for some reason on my Win 7 64 bit machine so I loaded everything on my XP which it works fine. The trouble is I rarely use the XP anymore.

I first copied your text and placed it into a script and saved it as textease.fpi. I then placed the unarmed SS guy onto some ground and right clicked on the character. This brought up his data on the left side and in the Main AI Scripts I placed the path for textease.fpi. I then put a player marker down, ran the test level and walked toward the character. Promptly at 200 units away the text "Hello there!" came up on the screen at the indicated coordinates.

No problems so I must conclude that this works.
