Hey everybody,

The problem I'm having is that when I have my laptop on a wireless connection as the client the server computer will eventually virtually "freeze" by only playing 1 frame every 3 seconds, but the client still runs perfect.

If I have the client on a wired connection everything works perfectly. Anyone have any idea why this could be happening?

Details:

-using built in commands for multiplayer, only using LAN. Plan
on switching to multisync later

-all information sent is in memblocks

-signal strength on wireless is excellent

You'll have to be more specific. What do you actually do serverside, is there any 3D graphics? Do you run physics?

its a very simple 3d tower defense game. The server is responsible for creating all bullets, updating enemy positions/state, and starting waves. Both client and server sends messages when a tower is built. That is pretty much the extent of it

It might be that you have a memory leak, you could try monitoring the memory usage of the server.

but if it was a memory leak then it would still happen on a wired connection, right? That is what I'm really having trouble with. I don't understand how having a wired/wireless connection makes a difference
