Well I tryed downloading upgrade 5, 3 times the past month (due to sluggish farterates in DBP) evertime it finished it told me the file is courupt, finally I tryed it again and it worked. After installing it everything stoped working! No examples no projects, nothing, but the game still plays all its music and sound and appears to bo running in the task bar when i compile but nothing shows up! I have emailed to the game creators with this but got nothing but a long computer generated reply babbling some thing about no Directx 9 or crappy videocard yet I gave em all my sys spec. So since that isnt very helpful maybe one of u can help?

my specs in case u need to know are:

Pentium 4 2.4 Ghz
ATI Radeon 9200 128MB
256 RAM
80GB harddrive

thanks!

You need the latest DirectX 9 version..

Youalso need all the latest Video drivers for your vid card, and i suggest just updating all the drivers on your computer (good to do from time-to-time)

Hope I Helped...

Have you got 9.1b though ? And are you using the latest nVidia drivers ? Aside from that the only thing I can suggest is that you've got a problem with your system.

Seriously, update your directX to 9.0b (TCA made a mistake, it is only up to 9.0b, not 9.1b... lol...), then, if that doesn't fix anything, get ALL the latest drivers for your computer... except that one that Raven told you to stay away from... lol...

But, yeah, that is how your compatablility issue was solved for so many other users, it's not funny... well, mabey it's a bit funny, but still, you get me, right?...

Yes, even a genius like me does make the occasional mistake - I know it'll be a giant shock to most of you, but there you go...

no backup of your code? painful

but yeah, if you have a problem always try and upgrade directx and your graphics card drivers, then if that doesn't work, scream.

it would always be recommended that you updated directx before updating darkbasic, so if you get any more screw-ups, give darkbasic a total reinstall from scratch.

Acutally there isnt a speed drop. Cat 3.9 are almost identical to 3.8. I personally have done 3dmark 03 tests and checked FPS differences in ET. No difference to speak of.
