Greetings all,
D13 here, most of you know me as a character artist, but I don't have all that many characters available in the TGC store. This is solely because when I zip my characters up and upload them TGC tells me when they test them they just stand there and don't do anything accept idle. now I know allot of you guys use milkshape3d just like me so I know it's not a milkshape thing, especially because when people buy my packs from the Northern Fox Media site they are functional. So the only thing I can think of is maybe the program which I zip my files with may not be interactive with the store. My question to you guys is what do you use to zip your characters and sell in the TGC store?

I use 'Winzip' but I do not have any characters uploaded so I haven't had the same problem as you.
Maybe the problem is on the TGC side of the fence?

I hope you find a solution to this.

I use "WinZip", "7zip" is good too. But you can also use "Winrar" as well.

It might be your file paths, I made the mistake once of specifying the file path for scriptbank\rolfy\blahblah.fpi when it should be
rolfy\blahblah.fpi since FPSC defaults to scriptbank.
I didnt notice this as it was working fine on my end but when I asked someone to test it was noticed and it does sound like a script problem.

Awesome! Its one of those threads.

I use 7zip as well with no results. The paths work as far as I know since the same models on my machine are the same ones I'm uploading.I'm also using completely default scripts and basically just replacing the model and texture name to something such as a WW2 officer. By all means it should work. As I said I sell these in the Northern Fox Media store and have not received any reports of what TGC says happens on their end. I've been battling this for at least a year or so.

I'll drop you an e-mail my friend, and we'll work it out. The same thing happened with the characters you sent for the Community pack.

It does sound like a script issue. There is no other reason I can think of that would cause the model to load, but do nothing.

You could try experimenting with the filepath.. for example my custom scripts did not work until I removed the 'scriptbank' part of the file name. I think it default searches there..e.g.

aiinit = Kasseyus\InstantSpawn.fpi

New PC Specifications : Intel Core i3 2.93Ghz. Windows Vista Ultimate. 4GB DDR3 RAM. ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT.

TGC Store Tag : Kasseyus (need to make a graphical sig one day)

@ Disturbing13,

FYI. We tested all your packs on our end and there are no issues with any of them (tested in v1.17 and v1.18). They all work as they should so you won't have to worry about the packs on our side.

@Cosmic Prophet-Thanks for the mail buddy I will give it a try with some of my latest and send to you ASAP. I didn't know that it the automan I sent for the pack reacted the same way.Once again buddy,Thanks!

@BlackFox- Thanks for the testing! I'd be mortified if I found out the packs were nonfunctional. I'll hopefully (after I get all this mess fixed with Cosmic's help)Have a another pack soon.

@all who have responded- Thanks!I'm glad to be part of a community that looks at problems from many uniquely different angles. Nothing could help development more.
