Hi guys!

GM_Acid here, so me and the other GM's decided to hold a scrimmage against some of the forums top FPS players. You versus us in Desolation: Earth.

Winner gets a beta key to our upcoming MMORPG and Veteran status if you win, not much but you get the satisfaction of beating the GM's. Game mode is Team Death match, the game will start at 8:00PM EST. 25 kills! Be sure to make an account on the forum!

@Everyone

We are currently a half hour out before official release and the GM game begins.

New Rules:

The most obvious is no glitching, unless you like the ban hammer.
All teams must wait until all their allies are in game before moving from spawn. That goes for us as well. Wait for the GM's to count down to 0 before we slaughter each other. >

If you see the download form and the progress bar has not moved at all, please close out of Dark Energy and run it as Administrator! Right click and "Run as Admin"

When you select the Desolation: Earth profile and hit "Download" there should be a download form that pops up. Simply hit "Download" on the right hand side. From there the button will say "Downloading in progress" The progress bar should then start to move forward indicating that it is being downloaded.

Additionally your anti-virus may be preventing the download. Pause your anti-virus until the download is complete.

That's unusual. It could be because a lot of people are downloading the game, we have posted the game on various other sites as well. Good news is if we get a full game going we will be making it into a trailer.

Excellent, our server is online, go ahead and click "Join game" then click GM scrimmage and click "Join game" proceed to select your weapons and launch

Looks like its downloading alright, must be very slow. The main file is only 400MB so it should not take to much longer we hope.

We have detected a system error within game. We are working to fix the issue. I will post again, when I do, please restart Dark Energy to download the patch!

Sorry for the double post. Please re-start Dark Energy and install the patch when is prompts you to. Make sure you run Dark Energy as Administrator!

For those having issues with the patcher here is the direct patch

All right, so after the patch, I crashed from an RTE after hitting tab to bring up the score/playerlist. I rebooted the game, and I joined, but I couldn't see the character select screen, just a view of the map with an empty health bar, no weapon, etc. I clicked to the right, where the arrow for switching characters would have been, and got a generic "FPSC Game has stopped working" message.

However, from what I was able to play, I was blown away for what you guys have accomplished with FPSC. It feels like a proper F2P shooter (minus the microtransactions, of course ). The only immediate flaw I saw was that the lighting was a bit bland. I'm not sure if there wasn't any lighting in the OpStat base, or if there were only a few lights, or they just weren't colored distinctly.
Overall, great start, and I'm looking forward to playing more after some bugs are ironed out (I do need to leave for the night, sorry!).

We really do apologize; we tested the game for a very long time to make sure the game operated smoothly. These issues are totally unforeseen and I already have all my staff working to fix the issues.

@Everyone

Please make sure to restart Dark Energy to download the 1.5.1 patch. We will continue to send out patches and create competitions, maybe some with money. I have everyone looking into the problems we are getting. Please let us know what kind of crash you are experiencing by creating an account on our forum and posting up a thread in the bug section. Again we do really apologize and appreciate your patience.

Sorry for the double post guys. We just released update 1.0.2 also called 1.5.2 on Dark Energy which should fix the crashing some people were seeing.

Additionally we set up another game this Saturday, with plenty of time to sign up for your spot. Same prizes as last time except we hope we won't be seeing the issues that spawned during launch. The game will be at the same time 8:00PM. Post on this thread if you want it!
