Hey there happy campers. I was wondering about this interesting thing going on with FPS creator. It's slowed my production to a halt. :-( It seems that with every level that I make, the more memory is used in a smaller area than the previous level. I usually like to end my levels at about 1300 to 1400 mb's for room for further improvement. So far, all I have of the 7th level is thus (which can be seen in the picture attached), and it crashes FPS creator at 1195 mb's. Anybody have any clues as to how to fix this or what's wrong?

Try going into the FPS Creator folder and run the FPSC Cleaner and memdump

I've done both, and it hasn't done anything unfortunately.

Maybe an entity is doing it? Any new entities put into the map? Try removing them and building.

1.19. I have this strange OCD thing where I HAVE to wait for the finished version of 1.20 to come out. As for entities, that table with the dome could be killing me. I'll play around with the entities in there. lol

So, I deleted the problem. It WAS that table. -_-

However, I've added some more stuff to the level now making it a bit larger. This makes the level's memory usage climb up to 1400 MB's. Is there any reason that this level is smaller than the other levels but quickly approaching the memory cap?

are you using custom entities? sounds to me like you might have a few items that have a large poly count and means you have a higher poly count in your scene. 9387263847563892458326598345 polys = 0fps+8712784141mb memory needed.

Yeah. Unfortunately, I have no money at the moment so I'm making what I can with unofficial model packs. So, in turn I got some community model packs from FPS files, cosmic prophet and stuff. I guess perhaps I should wait till 1.20 comes out, and work with that. I just have an unquenchable thirst for laying down entities. lol

You use the wrong software then mate

But to further analyse your problem: Are you having a large variety of characters and weapons in your maps?

As for variety of characters, there's only about two types of enemies so far per map. I don't want to go over three different types for later levels. Although, there's an average of 10 to 12 enemies on each one. And I'm kinda going by the half life style of weapon selection, so in the 9 levels I have so far the player has three weapon (Colt, Uzi, and Mossberg).

If you can spare some time, I can send you a zipped folder of the build game I have so far.
