am not the greatest designer in the world and am finding FPS creator as a good way to design the world.

anyone has used this experience before so he can share it with me.

Hello basjak,
If you are satisfied with using FPS creator for designing the world, then go for it. I found it a little limiting, although I haven't spent much time with it. It is similar to DBPro where you can place prefabs (building models or portions of buildings). This is good if your level needs repetative elements, and the level editor makes it easy for precise placement (in DBP these elements are most likely placed manually in code, which can be tricky if you're trying to align them properly) I think it is also a great way to prototype an FPS, because many of the NPC's and prefabs are already made available at the Game Creator Store. Most (if not all) of the NPC's are already preprogrammed and animated by their creators, so all you have to do is place them in the level editor, and modify their attributes if you wish. Then compile and you have a playable level. If your looking to expand upon the features of your FPSC level, you can import the level into DBP, where you have all of DBP's command potential at your disposal. There is a good example of this process that comes along with the demos of Dark Physics. If you find designing in FPSC enjoyable, but prefer programming in DBP, then you might want to try this example. You can always substitute your FPSC level with the one in the Dark Physics Demo. Good luck and thanks again for your help with getting my program to work. Take Care.

You're welcome. It really depends on how simple or complex you wish to make your world. I don't see how the sample building model I made could have been done easily in FPSC. I used two CAD programs and AC3D. The end result looks simple, and the model took only a few days to work on, but I think some of the geometry is beyond the capabilities of FPSC. FPSC is great for creating FP dungeon RPG's (and I think there are one or more model packs for this genera), but if you're looking to make vast landscapes or more complicated structures, you might be better off with a CAD program (like Google Sketchup...free download). You can save models in .dae format, import into AC3D, and convert to .x format. From there, you can load this into DBP. Let us know what design resources you need. If you're looking to speed up the design time, maybe some of us can help you.

I used ac3d for previous engineering projects and I made many applications in dbpro. 3 are available at Intel app store.

However, I never took the challenge to create 3d game. Now, I made the story, so I said I start collecting information for quick and cheap way to design.

I liked the fpsc because I see that I can design a level such as small town or inner building very fast..

Have you found what you need building-wise at TGC store? I'm not good at modelling characters but I might be able to create a custom building design for you. I would have to re-familiarize myself with FPSC. I don't know off-hand which formats it accepts for importing prefabs. If the building is two or more stories/levels high, I'm not sure how it would be placed in FPSC. I know you can transition between multiple stories/levels but only work on one at a time. Also if the building is say two and a half stories, I don't know if it would conflict with the level editor when trying to place it. One last thing, if you wish to work entirely within FPSC, it has its own programming syntax, how similar it is to DBP, I'm not sure. I do know that there is a book written on the subject by Alistair Stewart. He's the same author of the Hands on DarkBasic Pro series.
