Hey guys, Anayar here and I've got a question for you guys.
I've seen a lot of people complain that the reason they haven't stred making custom media is because they never got the hang of a modelling software or because they never found the right tutorial.

What I'm wondering is if there would be interest in a tutorial which covered modelling, unwrapping, and texturing a house but with a slight twist...

So you know how usual tutorials only use one modelling software an ask you to emulate it in your own... Well here is my proposal:
I'll show you how to model the same house in 3ds max, blender, milkshape, and sketchup. Then I'll show you how to unwrap it in either Maxs built in unwrapper, ultimate unwrap, or with a differen method specific to sketchup models.
Then how to textur in GIMP, or Paint.net
Then I'll cover importing and creating the necessary files.

So it would be structured like this:
Modelling:
1. Max
2. Blender
3. Milkshape
4. Sketchup

Unwrapping:
1. Max built in
2. Sketchup
3. All other modelling apps

Texturing:
1. GIMP
2. Paint.net

Exporting:
1. Max (Panda)
2. Sketchup
3. Blender (python)
4. Milkshape

Importing:
1. All

-----------------------------------
So let me know, just wanted to judge what kind of interst there might be in something like this

Cheers,
Anayar

people are always looking for good tutorials. i don't think it's ever a waist of time doing them. i've done several fragmotion tutorials and have had well over 1000 d/l of them. (no one ever comments though)

so in short, i think it's a great idea.

If your last tutorial can get even an old dinosaur like me modelling, then I'm sure a new set of tutorials will get even more people modelling, so I'm all for it

@Anayar - seems a good idea.
@Seppgirty - I used your tutorials and have learnt a lot from them for Fragmotion. Sorry for never saying this, but: thanks a lot, they are great.

Regards

Eugene
