Last summer I had some time and this summer I have some time again, so I am going to take another swing at this whole indy game making thing.

Anyhow... One of the things I did last summer was learn a lot about 3ds Max from the autodesk student software. Anyhow, I wanted to have a discussion about, what is the prefered format to get models into DBPro.

I was thinking part of my build system would be a command to walk all the directories looking for various model files, then convert those files into dbo objects and dump them into a "compiled" directory...

Anyhow, the reason I want to "compile" my model assets into dbo format is that the dbo files tend to be quite a bit smaller than 3ds.

Also... .X seems to be heavily depreciated now...
