Hello,
I am getting back into basic from quickbasic many years ago and have chosen DarkBASIC Pro. What I would like to ask is since I am building my levels etc...in FPSC X10...How can I use the scripts that I code or use in FPSC within DarkBASIC? Convert? Export? Or does DBPro use the FPI scripts in any way. I know about LUA...but I plan to use the FPI if at all possible.
Please help and advise.
Thank you much.
Sincerely,
David

Yes, you can use FPI in DBP, if you are willing to port over the entire language from the FPSC source code. DBP does not have FPI by default, FPI is a language that was made WITH DBP, not part of it. If you were to port over FPI, I can see lots of people thanking you for it, but it wouldn't be the easiest thing to do, and would take a long, LOOOONG time.

Thank you kindly for your reply. I would like to attempt this as it would be beneficial to myself as well. where can I get the FPSC source code? Any tips on the best place to start the port? Compiler...Interpreter...language to use...etc???
Thanks again.
Please advise.
Thank you.

I found this...FPSC-Game.DBA 46,899 lines of code. Does that sound correct?

If FPI was coded with DBPro...stands to reason the task to port should be a little easier...theoretically.

What I have found is that it "supposedly" could slow down an already slow 3D game "engine". FPSC games and DBPro games run too damn fast on my old system...I think the posts I have been reading are old.
Anyway...please advise on the source code. Did I get the right code?

And Thank you for your replies...
Peace.
David
