Trying to make a simple RPG game which would look like lineage 2 or wow.
Loading and playing animated objects for mobs is easy, but what about players whose appearance depends on items they have?
I am thinking about some kinda "character engine" that would construct an object from smaller parts (like arms, legs, head...) and move all the parts so it would look like an animated object.
Or maybe take a thin animated skeleton and glue items to it.
Anyone tried to do that? Any other ideas?

You can add limbs to objects, you can glue items to objects, you can rotate limbs.

Answering your question, you can have a generic animated character to which you can glue objects to and then hide the generic character. The glued objects will move along with the animation if you glue them correctly. glue object to limb is the command you need.
