Does anyone know the function to call when you want an input box in your program?
i know to get a message box you load the user32.dll and then


but can i make it so an input box pops up, so that i can get input from the user? Its either this or writing my my own input box function, which won't be fun

You can either buy RobK's BLUE system for thing like that or IanM might have something.

Nope, not me.

BLUE is definitely the way to go for ease, or you could write your own function to do it - I did at one point

so i can't get a windows input box up using a .dll? even though its possible with a message box? you don't still have that function lying around do you IanM? if so would i be able to take a look at it?

The problem with edit boxes is that you need to process window messages.
To process window messages you need a callback.
DBPro doesn't do callbacks...

Writing your own is the best way.

... and here's the code that keeps the action going - press the ` key to open the input box, and enter the word 'quit' to exit the program
