I'm starting to think my FPSC doesn't like me. I have this new problem while building a test game, where it takes way too long than it should to build the level. I attached a screencap of the editor. What I have is 4 enemies, 8 lights (2 of them dynamic), one key, stock segments. I can't really find out what's wrong. I deleted all the entities at one point to locate the problem, but I got the same result. The test game will eventually go through, of course, but only after an hour of waiting. Anybody have anything? I found a board from a while back detailing a similar problem, but I didn't get anywhere with it. Thanks!

Have you increased lightmapsize (or whatever) in the setup.ini ?

I work at STL - http://www.stlinteractive.net

Is there one particular thing that it loads for a long time?

Yeah, it's when the engine begins to calculate object light. I've deleted all the entities just to be sure, even replaced the segments, but it still happens. and the strange thing is is that it only happens with this level. Hopefully the FPM isn't corrupted or something. I even dumped the memory and ran the cleaner, but still, nothing. :-n

in preferences tick the 'no light mapping' and see what it does.
also try the same with 'no shader effects'

Questions to ask:
did light's work on any previous test maps?
What kind of GFX card are you using?
What kind of rig are you using? rig = pc
Have you tried complimenting FPSC on its hair or eyes.

Yeah, the light's worked for all of the previous levels I did before it. I'm using a stock graphics card (one of the Radeon HD 6000 series). And I'm running an HP P7-1247C. 8 gb's of RAM, 2.5 GHz Speed, 64 bit. He can hold his own against the Daedra. But as for compliments, I try, but FPSC seems to be more worried about it's size than it's looks. lol

seems like I had the same problem a while back and I had to completely remove FPSC and do a registry repair which I'm sure wasn't related but it did fix the problem.

I assume your using version 119 and you've tried the sample maps that came with FPSC also.

I would try a fresh install and start your task manager and watch the performance tab while trying another FPSC test

This may seem like a feeble question, but what should I back up? I have aloot of custom huds, numerics, crosshair, audio and entities.

You want to back up all your media files I.E entity bank, audio bank, texturebank, mesh bank. Don't copy over the actual FPSC x10 engine files. You want a fresh install

**Edit**

Also, if that does not work. I noted that you have Norton. A.K.A Symantec. A.K.A no go.

I would try disabling your anti-virus. It may be deleting preventing you from running the actual FPSC game.

Same difference, both engines use the same mesh, texture and sound blah blah directories. You just need to fresh install and update again.

Why does life suck the life out of you?
