I submitted my .exe installer to appup for validation and the only issue they had with my game was the lack of pause menu.

No need to make an msi installer now then? I have been looking in the guides for info on appup, but haven't seen much so far. Is there any guide for getting an AppGameKit game onto appup yet?

You can find instructions for appup in the help file (Help - Guides - Windows)

Instead of using an msi packager, I followed the instructions at the link I posted to create a .exe installer. I used a free exe creator that I found on the web.

They told me that they tested my game and installer on windows xp, 7 64 and 32, and it worked fine. I just need to add an exit game button for it to be accepted.

So any exe maker will suffice by the sounds. Will have a look into it today if possible. I would want to get it signed as well I imagine, so that may be useful. It used to be based on your browser I seem to remember also? I may be remembering incorrectly of course.

You must use Internet Explorer to receive the signing certificate, and then I followed instructions provided by appup to use the microsoft signtool from the microsoft sdk to sign my installer.

I assume the signing guide can be used with an exe installer rather than an msi? I am also wondering if smart packer pro would be the best bet for this, or install creator. Has anyone used smart packer pro at all?

Ya, the signing guide works with .exe installer ( it says so in title btw). I used install creator to package my game.

A question for you btw, how do you exit your games? They are having hard to describe issues with my exit button.

Quote: "how do you exit your games?"

For a Windows game, after you clean up everything, in Tier 1, simply call 'end'.

For Tier 2, do 'PostQuitMessage(0);'.

Thanks very much! I was saying exit (the do loop), but it was causing issues. I'm a basic noob.
