Hi I was wondering if I could use my own knife model rig it to EAI's hands and self animate everything and release it for free but im not sure of EAIs hand licence.

Here is my WIP knife model

Still need to texture it

You still need his permission. BTW if youre using the free version of Max you need to state it if/when you release it as you dont want yourself or others getting in trouble because of license stuff (non-com only)

It should be okay as there are some free rigs using his hands out there, but you still need written permission. Just e-mail the guy
