Now I am a little bit of a newb when it comes to things like this , but how would I go about changing the stock font that says 'Picked up weapon', and 'Press enter to use'? And also, how do I go about changing the mouse pointer of the main menu, and what the buttons look like?

Take a look in C:\Program Files\The Game Creators\FPS Creator\Files\gamecore\huds

I believe there is a plugin for GIMP that lets you edit DDS files. You'll notice the pointer.dds file in the folder I mentioned.
