What? So... you're saying I can take any of my spiffy Half-Life maps and somehow use them in my DB creations? That's perfect for me, I know VHE better than I know most of the people around me. All I need to know now is where I can find a list of things that makes a Half-Life map different than what I'd need to use for a DB game, and how to actually use it with DB... And game making will be so much easier for me. I've already got Zoner's Half-Life Compiler Tools, and I know how to use them... Now, if only I wasn't such a DB newb...

And were it not for the newbie, all you veterans would seem as new as they do.

the only thing that is used from the bsp maps is the geometry... so any kind of door, ladder, zone, etc... will not load into DB... because those are certain things that are specific Half-Life engine coding...

not heard of it being done... or even if it could be done... but i think someone that understands the compiled bsp file might be able to make a customized loader that would be able to use doors and such... but if it could be done... you would have to be a master DB programmer

Blast... But I did find a tutorial in the first sticky that tells me how to configure it... Too bad it's giving me errors.

Bloody VHE. It was my friend.

Still doesn't explain my error... I've been Hammering for a good while, and I've never seen this one...

The command failed. Windows reported the error:
"The system cannot find the file specified."

Quite odd, if you ask me, which you didn't.

It's still odd, though.

oh... you are getting the error in VHE... thought you were getting it in DBP... my bad

i havent tested it with the latest version of DBP... but in the original version i compiled the .bsp the same way i would for HL... and they imported nicely... but right now BSP is not the most, um, reliable thing right now... many issues have came up with it, and a lot of people have been resorting to using .x levels instead of .bsp
