DO YOU LIKE KILLING ZOMBIES? OKAY GOOD, SO DO I!!!

Description : I assume most of you already know what Zombies Mode is all about, but for those of you who don't, follow this link-
http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Zombies_(mode)

README : Well, I tested the game, and so far it's got a pretty low frame rate. The cash system has been a real pain... so I'm sorry that I wont be using it in this game (I have been VERY busy lately) But trust me, I will be making a more
Arcade-ish style version of this, so that way it'll run faster and I'll still be able to apply a bunch of other cool features. But with how slow things are going, and with how much time I DON'T have, I am going to call this finished and release it

Download Here : http://www.mediafire.com/?fknusnvv7nnn4vb

Thanks for all of the comments, this project has been both fun and frustrating, but I'd say it turned out pretty sweet

Features -
Hordes of Zombies
Wall Guns
Teleporter
Secret Clues
Power Activation

Progress -
Rooms Completed : All
Guns Placed : All
Zombies Placed : All

Known bugs -
Zombies run in place.

You have registered in 2010. You should know the requirements for a WIP thread.

What you have delivered is nothing more than an announcement. There is no screenshot, no story, no game mode, no game features.

Just some vague hints and a bit of boasting.

@The Storyteller 01

Um, no... this actually does meet the requirements. I'm sorry if I ain't no Storyteller like you, but this type of game thread SHOULD be as straight forward as it is. I mean, what more do I really NEED to put out there? "I am making a Zombies Remake" it's pretty obvious what I'm doing. I'm still going to put screenshots up soon enough, just be patient

No, it doesn't. You need FPSC screenshots in your thread to post here.

You really think THIS counts as a description of a game?:

Believe me, I have learned not to expect ANYTHING

Oh I will, trust me. I only started this project a couple hours ago lol

Quote: "You really think THIS counts as a description of a game?"

That depends on what kind of game. I am NOT recreating ALL of Black Ops, just the zombie mode! Which is pretty dang simple. And MOST people already know how the Black Ops Zombies mode works... and for those who don't, I PUT A LINK that takes you to a description. And dude, chill out, this is a WIP, not a showcase, I am still going to put lots more information, but AS I GO. I only JUST started this project a little while ago

In my experience, the TGC forums have been some of nicest...

Anyway, now that you have a picture up, I feel like you're not capturing the mood the Black Ops map had, it's missing a lot of details, like the Nazi banners. It also really bothers me that the broken texture around the broken roof doesn't match the rest of the roof.

Thanks man! And as I stated in the first post, this game isn't going to include every feature, but it's gonna be very similar. Which means I don't have (or really care for) the scripts I would need to make this into an actually FULL remake... hmmm, I better point that out in the first post as well, lol

I'll re-edit the first post, explaining what will be there.

Don't make a post that doesn't follow the rules. The fact you added pictures and stuff surprises me. Once you see 5-10 threads made posting "will add screenshots later" you just kind of want them gone and dealt with.

On another note, I didn't see your name as Levi Barros last night. I mistook you for another user who can't read what the W.I.P requirement are. Honestly, if you make a thread not following the rules, you deserve to get the thread locked. No one is above the forum requirements.

Is a cop a jerk because he writes you a ticket for speeding? No. You didn't follow some rules. You were asking for the ticket. And I know I not a forum mod but I myself personally hate clicking on a thread and seeing "promises of screenshots, story, etc".

Now with that being said, about your game...

It looks okay but I'd suggest changing wall textures... perhaps adding more debri and grunge. I wouldn't even suggest buying the Infected Military model pack until you are 90% done with the game. Honestly, this seems like a project that is a little ways out there for some people. You might need to look around for some zombie scripts that still work and any models that may help you out. Maybe you should talk to that other guy who made the Nazi Zombies space station level (or something like that) and get some pointers.

Well, to a certain extent yeah... but ya gotta remember, everything always sounds more rude when it's in text. The reason for this is because you can't read people's body language... so things come across as rude, or, sarcastic, etc...

this looks like bossin sawce right here. sinces its a black ops map, should there be modern weapons in it? like EAI weapon packs. then you can take and remove the parts from the guns and put them on others for the pack-a-punch.

like edit the eoteck sight off a model pack 9 or 10 or 53 of a gun and keep the gun stock with the part off it and then put it back for the pack a punch. or mix match the parts or something. thats what i would do haha.

Hehe, thanks man! And about the guns. I was considering Errant AI, but I think these guns are going to work better since Nazi's are from WW2 anyway Thanks for your comment, have a nice day

Of course it's possible, and quite easy really. Use a variable to determine what weapon the player has in which slot. If the player is within X units to the pack-a-punch machine and pickobject=1, and a key is held, subtract 5000 points, and use the gun variable to replace the current weapon with the upgraded version of the weapon (you'll need two different versions of each weapon, with different damage/accuracy/clip size etc. and maybe a different texture too if you want to be fancy).

Well I am not using a currency system. That would take up WAY too much time, plus I've already looked into how that works and I've even tried it... and in the end, it just wasn't worth the time & trouble. Besides, ya know what they say "Time is Money" I will just be using Delay Time on weapons instead of a currency system. But one thing I am interested in, is a Random Gun Box... that would make things cooler yeah? Although I have no clue how that works.

looks good! BTW the pistol and the carbine both had 8 shots in them in this mode, but that doesn't really matter.

looks like the framerate strikes back in those pics.

Take your time man. Rushing a game will stunt it heavily. Take Marc's advice and try it. Scripting is not very hard at all and once you learn how to script... your options are broadened... HEAVILY.

Yeah true. But I don't know if I will, I might do it. It would be cool if someone wanted to help me though. Is there a tutorial thread for a currency system??

yes just look around, play around with the scripts to make sure. I used to use this system its like kill get money buy doors, guns, fake walls, etc. but if you want to change the amount of money you get for each kill or cost for stuff you have to do a quick edit to the scripts. Its not really hard to do at all

Use conjureds cash system, just add in in the death script of the zombies a line to increase the variable for killin a zombie. As for pack a punch, you could make a copy of the weapon you have, alter the texture, change the sound, modify the gunspecs to make it better and when it comes to ingame simply replace the new weapon with the old using scripting. Its definitely manageable.
