Hello,

I am starting off a game and the first level(which is not necessary to the game) takes place at a train station. The player is taking a train to where the main game is at so this level isn't a must have, it's a "would be nice to have".

Regardless, I am struggling to find a good segment that will fit what I'm looking for: a sort of old train station look. It takes place in modernish times maybe some years back, but I don't want it to look super modern.

Does anyone know any segments in any of the TGC products or otherwise that would work well?

I would be hesitant to make my own segment for that purpose , but if you are not capable of doing that or for any other reason can not at the moment , you could have a look at CGTextures.com.

There are many textures in various categories. A lot of which are also tiled (seamless) and you would not need to edit them at all ,or at the very least, not drastically.

If you shoot me an email with a few more specifics on what you're after, I could whip a custom one up for you if you want.

I've seen them used in MW3 and Crysis2 (fun fact), aswell as on TGC story so they're definitely permitted for use on your own segments/entities (and ones which you wish to sell).

I would make segments for the ground stuff for proper collision and use static and dynamic entities for the buildings and walls and ceilings.

For this to look the best custom stuff would be better. Finding premade segments will confine your ideas and development.

Find your textures first, so you know what you have to work with.
Then think about what segments and entities you would need. Pencil sketches of the segmented map layout will help a lot.

What modelling software do you have available to you and can you use it?

Or you just use Model Pack 3 and/or Cosmic Prophets Dark City Pack.

A general friendly advice to serious game developers:
Download ALL the good stuff thats available for free (Northern Fox Media is my favourite source), starting with Cosmic Prophets packs. Not only might you find exactly what you need, but you'll also get tons of inspiration for mapbuilding.

In case you find my grammar and spelling weird ---> native German speaker ^^
