It was removed from the list. Gaming news sites have confirmed that it was all an accident. Oh well.

Meh, never was a fan of Half-Life.

Though X-Com and Heart of the Swarm, can't wait to see those.

Actually looking forward to Crysis 3, enjoyed the second one. Had good pacing, and was pretty fun.

I just don't know how it's possible to be a nerd and say that.

Really though, this game has become the new Duke Nukem Forever in terms of development.

ONE SCREENSHOT.

That's all I ask valve.

I don't understand the obsession with Half-Life. I didn't find the series even mildly entertaining. People always talk about how great the story telling was but I absolutely hated it. The games weren't bad, but there is nothing about them that made them great in any way shape or form.

Words cannot describe my Greatness... But I'll give it a shot.

I am awesome....... Yeah, that works.

I liked HL2 a lot more than the original. HL1 didn't age well, in my opinion. HL2, though, I think is one of the best shooters ever released.

I dunno, when Half-life 1 came out it was breathtakingly detailed. the only game with better graphics was riven and that was a photographic game.

The AI was amazing and intimidating(we were coming from quake and doom here)

its the first shooter i remember actually having an in game story rather than cut-scenes explaining the next wave of shooting.

The lighting and sound were epic.

...and the intro just left my jaw hanging loose for its entire duration the first time I saw it.

it's easy to look back now and poo-poo Half-life 1, but it was truly groundbreaking and still one of my all time favorite games.

Halflife 3 would be awesome.

DJ, if you've got a picture there, it isn't showing

What are you people talking about? What made the Half-Life games great? They rewarded creativity! So few games give you a problem to solve without one strict answer. The reward is so much greater when you build your own unique solution. The Portal series did this so brilliantly as well. I suppose if you aren't the creative type, this draw might not be as strong, but you can still solve the problems systematically.

Blasphemer! How could anyone not like HL? It's honestly the best shooter series I have ever played. It was just, like, the game itself was very good and the way the story was told through the game was breathtaking.

I think we should write messages with signatures.

I dont, but I must say that I never found the first game to be that much fun - not even 9 years ago when I first tried it (9-10), and back at that time I was 10 - so I did find it awesome graphically and all that, but i never stuck to it...

but the second compared to the first? I do prefer the second, but certanly dont get what all the hype is about - its a very solid shooter but... i couldnt care less about what i'm doing in the game besides shooting

Perhaps HL1 was more easily appreciated by those who grew up on so much less. ... Like me.

I never said HL was a bad series, or that they weren't good games. I also picked up my bookshelf box HL1 when it released and got my money's worth out of it. I just didn't' become a fan. I seem to run into two types of gamers, those who worship HL and those who hate it. I'm like in the middle.

Though, I've only played part of the second one.

If you want to get the PC version, the digital download is already available.

http://finalfantasyviipc.com/en

Reading the minimum requirements:

Quote: "Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7 (32/64-bit) • 2GHz Processor or faster • 1GB RAM •
DirectX 9-compatible graphic card"

Seriously? I was running the original release on a 120mhz, 32mb ram, 1mb graphics. What's so different about it?

I might get it, because I was an idiot and sold my PC version and it's a game I'd like to play again, but will ignore the extra features, except maybe the graphics polish. No graphics have been remade, but the resolution increased and backgrounds touched up a bit to accommodate. But you do have the option to use the original settings. Or so this is what I've heard.

Apparently it's coming soon though...

I played Half-Life for the first time less than a year ago and it's the second most immersive game I've ever played (Heavy Rain being #1). There's so much detail in things most games don't even think about and it has so much character. There are multiple ways to complete sections so it gets you thinking, for example: there was one area covered in those ceiling grabber aliens, I was making my way through when a group of soldiers burst in; instead of fighting them directly I lured them to the ceiling grabbers who finished them off for me.

Sadly my PS3 died shortly after I got HL so I haven't completed it.
Next on my list of classic games I missed is Deus Ex.

Shh... you're pretty.

I have the box set of Half Life 1, and Half Life 2. I never got past the spiders in Half Life 1, so I never loaded Half Life 2. It's unlikely then that I can get Half Life 3. Difficult endings cost you money!

It's an amazing game, the original at least. It's available on gog.com (here) and although it seems a little expensive for such an old game I think it's worth the cost. You can of course get it for 'free' elsewhere but let's not get into that here.
