I made a simple Pong game in order to learn how to use Multiplayer in DBPro (without darknet).
Any starting points? I basically want to make my pong game be playable over the internet.

MultiSync is the most common method and is free... with over 500 posts, if the documentation cannot help you, I am sure one of those 500+ posts can... if not, just post back in here... or make a new thread, but perform a search for related threads first...

hope that helps...

alternatively, launch DBpro and press F1, Click COmmands, and scroll down to 22. MULTIPLAYER COMMANDS

again, I hope this helps...

Well the usual point of a plugin is to simplify or add functionality...

so I guess there is your answer...

the difference is one of or both of two... Simplicity or Functionality added

I personally never used MultiSync, but heard good things about it, namely it is free and simple to use apparrently...

I bought DarkNet so I am going to utilise that...

The built-in ones use the rather outdated DirectPlay, which has since even been deprecated. I think it doesn't support more than 8 players or something like that either.

Multisync provides more low level TCP functionality (and maybe UDP too? Was a while since I used it).

Well, I am going to investigate both. As soon as I figure out how to make a decent menu screen.

If you are behind a router, you will also need to understand and set up port forwarding if you want to get it working outside of your own LAN.

ignore the sales offer, there is a lot of really good information in the site.
