so far we are in the development of making the game, we just started the game a day ago. We will have screenies as soon as possible! Right now I'm trying to find sofware that can transfer image files to avi files so the character can do some animations!

You don't need .avi files to do animations in DB. Read the "WALKING SPRITE" tutorial in the tutorials section.

Basicly you don't use avi's for animations in a game ... cinematics yes, animations in-game no. I'm joining hexgear: I'll have some what he's having

Here's some personal advice, Desktops: It is best that if you post something in the works in progress section that you be in the BETA testing phase of your project - not the pipe-dream phase, or design stage. The most respected posts in this section belong to people who had already done considerable work on their projects and came up with self-satisfying results. We appreciate your eagerness to contribute, but this is just a friendly word of advice. Good luck on your project...

I'm sorry if I post in the work of progress too early! I just want to go ahead and post it in the Work in Progress! It's a very simple game. Really I'm almost done with the demo version of the game. Just like I said I will try to have a demo release on December 6th, I hope that everyone will like this easy game. I would like to thank everyone that came here to post and view this forum section. Over 300 views and 20 messages.

you realize though, that avi files DONT support transparency? Meaning, no matter what you do, your characters will have a "box" or backround behind them that dosn't match the level's background. Also, AVI files are REALLY big, unless you have Divx or something similar. And finally, avi files would probably be harder to use than sprites, that is if you want your characters to do cool things...transitioning between movement videos would probably be a real pain.

so yeah, I don't know why you think AVIs are better to use. Pass the grass please

@chris knott
who said that i cared about transparency. The background screen is going to be pitch black anyway. So really you made an idiot of yourself!

I'm cancelling Ultimate Fight, because due to the number of complains, I'm really getting tired of the complains about AVI files and other stuff. I'm starting a new FPS project called Soul Shooter: Lampit's Revenge. I will have screenshots on this game in this section of this forum. This project will become more sucessful than the UFA! Farewell UFA! I have also started a new team called System3! I have a website! I will post the website later.

@ thedesktops

Instead of starting a new game, why don't you just try to continue making your fighting game without AVIs. Sprites are easier than you think to use...

besides, if you can't hack a 2d fighter, how do you expect to make a FPS called "Soul shooter?"

Hey, I just read what thedesktops said earlier.

November 11th - Starts Project
November 12th - Says 'almost done with demo version'
December 6th - demo version due to be released

If they can almost finish it in one day, why the extra month's wait?

@ thedesktops
Please can you release the 'almost finished' version for us to test?

If anyone wants the source for Ultimate Fight Advance, please send an email to thedesktops@fusemail.com. I might just work on this game in the future. I received some complaints and threats from a couple of people! I'm not going to explain any names. No I'm not a 6 year old girl.

@divide by zero- I really do like the change of the name Soul Shooter: Armpit's Revenge! I might just use that.

On the Soul Shooter Project I will post screenshots and demos after I code it! I guess I learn a lesson about posting in the WIP section!

I don't think posting in the WIP forums without having anything is worthy of threats.
