Hi all,

I don't like the standard jumping, it is almost like when you jump, its low gravity, you seem to jump very slowly up and come to a soft landing, is there any way to make it faster? Another question, is there a way to make the walking noise more 'Spaced out', so when you walk at an average pace, it does not seem like the players feet are going like Mr. Krab's feet when he walks. (If you don't know who Mr. Krabs is from Spongebob, I advise you look it up. Now.) ONE MOAR QUESTION (Sorry there is so many, I would just like them answered at once, saves me having to make loadsa posts ), the question, is about particle explosion effects, like in most games today, either that, or a better explosion effect than the stock one, is this possible? If so, could you point me in the right direction? Last question, I know this has been asked before, but no one has come to any substantial conclusion, is a 'gib' effect, like in Quake, or Doom 3, possible on dead enemies, or, if a live enemy is hit by an explosion/direct shotgun/powerful gun? There must be a way of doing it somehow? Surely?

- Thanks in advance, Charlie

Nice questions, but there are sometimes things you can't change if you understand what I mean

- jumping > change in physics system > modding the source

- foot noise > changing collision & physics > modding the source (or silence footsteps total)

- particle explosions > modding the source (still maybe impossible to do)

- gib effect (burst a char into pieces, right?^^) > custom moddeling, but possible (for a simple optical glas-burst-effect, but equal, see videos in my sig)

fpsc has its problems (footstep-soundglitch) and is outdated when looking at the actual "pro"-engines. for all but the gibbing you need to mod the source as you wish, means learning darkbasic and get a system into the code that works for you.
