I had no idea where to put this post. "Does this belong in the n00b forums, because the answer is so obvious?", I thought to myself. "Does this belong in the FPSC forums? Or does this belong in the 2D forums?" After a while of pondering these oh-so-important questions - made even more important by the fact this is my first forum post (Hi everybody!) - I just decided to post it here.

Anyway, moving on, I'm creating a 2D RPG game and I was just wondering if it's possible to use FPSC - the classic 'X9' version, not X10 - to draw my maps/realm/world/whatever which I can then import into DBPro? Is there a specific file I need to export it as? Do I need to save them anywhere specific, or will they work the same way as media files - moving themselves for me?

Or, and probably most likely, have I gone about this entirely the wrong way? If I have are there any decent map creators you guys could share? I've tried to use Mapscape, but sadly there seems to be a .dll file error, despite the fact that file exists. Or am I going to need to build my own map creator from scratch, mano-a-mano-style, me versus technology?!

Either way, I can't wait to see some of you around the forums and thanks in advance for all your help!

Yes you can, but they will be 3D, not 2D. You will get all of the built-in occlusion and optimisation too, with no extra coding. The tutorial I wrote is a few years old now, but should still work...

@BatVink I thought as much. Awesome, thanks anyway! I'll give it a go!
