Hello,
I've just purchased DarkGame Studio Bonanza, and I've received the download links.
I'm trying the various stuff, but it seems that I've some problems:

1) DarkVoices crashes when I select a file to play
2) Why all textures (DarkMatter 1) looks so old and not so accurated ?
3) Where can I find high definition textures ?

Thanks

1) I'm afraid I have no experience with that plugin
2) DarkMATTER 1 is probably about 10 years old at this stage. When it was released it was a lot closer to what was technically possible to render in real time.
3) It depends what for. If it is for character or vehicles or something detailed like that then you would either have to find a ready made model that someone has been kind enough to make available for free (or buy one from somewhere like http://www.dexsoft-games.com/ or http://www.turbosquid.com/) or create your own. For more simple textures, or for base textures to use when creating your own textures, there are a few sites such as http://www.cgtextures.com/ to look at.

Unhelpful Titles

Please do not simply write "Noob Question", "I am a newb", "One Noobie Question", "A question", "Please help", "This isn't working" or anything similar as the title of your post. We have a search facility, and meaningless titles do not help others find answers to their questions. It will also help you to get quicker responses if people have an idea of your thread content.

I'll search for 3d models on those sites

So, where can I ask help for the Dark Voicescrash ?

EDIT: I've another (noob) question,
I've downloaded this free character : http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/zombie-maps-normal-max-free/327193

but when I try to load it, it comes without textures.. I've tried to put the dds files in the same dir too :/

you can tell DBP to manually texture objects with an image of your choice:

sorry, don't know about dark voices...

BatVink NICE LINK " [BIG THUMBS UP TO BigAdd]

Welcome to the forums Luca91

Did you load the .max model into DBP?

Regarding Dark Voices, I am guessing you either used the wrong file format, or something is wrong with your development environment/OS...

Can you state your OS, Bit version [32/64], Memory [RAM] and Motherboard/SoundChip... and also the software used to export or create the sound file, and its details, Format, bit rate etc oh and size... also whether you have UAC enabled [I suspect this is causing the issue, a simple remedy is to install DarkVoices outside of Program Files... or run as admin...] and also your AntiVirus program... eugh I could go on with diagnostic information, perhaps I should just make an app lol... hope I/We can help resolve this for you

Well, I'm trying to use the sample wav files that comes with the installer, and it still crash.
I'm using windows 7 x86 , 4GB RAM (3GB usable due to x86) , asus p5k series motherboard.

OK stupid question time... have you installed DirectX 9.0c?

What sound card/chip do you have...

Did you restart since installing everything... [I keep my pc on 24/7/All Year Round]

Are you running any conflicting applications like a media application?

Did you attempt a reinstall of Dark Voices?

Yes/ on board high definition audio / yes / probably not / no because I've figured out that it works with some wav files, but not with the included examples files

No you can't load a .max file into DBP. You have to export it to a supported format, the most common one being .X (use the Panda X exporter).

TheComet - I knew this but wanted the OP to make it clear what he/she did exactly as they said they loaded it into DBP so I wanted confirmation of this... still waiting...

I did this:

Quote: " load object "media/z.X",1

load image "media/z.dds" , 1
texture object 1 , 1"

the z.X model is supposed to be animated, but it is not

Just like you have to texture an object manuall, you also need to animate it.
use
or
if you want it to automatically repeat the animation. You can also specify start and ending frames of the animation.
Note that you should have this command outside your main loop (eg when loading the object), otherwise the program will try to start animating the object every frame, getting it stuck on the first frame. To avoid that, you can use something like

try "set object speed objectnumber , 1000" that should make the animation play 10x as fast (100 = default speed). Experiment with the numbers
