Hi

I want to create a fake elevator for an apartment building.

I can see that the standard lift system will not do it because a) It hasn't got a ceiling and b) it only goes from point a to point b and can't stop along the way.
So I need a 10 way switch for 10 floors, and I need a teleporter with a timer, so for example, I'm on floor 2 and I step in the lift, I select floor 7, each floor takes 1 second to traverse, so I want a five second delay then I get teleported (hiddenly) to floor 7.
My thinking is to play a movie of a static lift room, in this case "5 second lift time" and then teleport to required destination.
Any ideas? Basically I think

1 Select destination with selectable hud
2 Pause, with travel movie
3 Arrive at destination
4 Open lift door.

We live in a world where there's more building on the Y axis than on X and Z. Help me explore it.
