hey, if theres already a tutorial for this somewhere, can someone point me to it? basically the effect i want to achieve is this..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Czqvxnm88Ug. (note that isnt me) i get that i need to make a new texture and have it be dark except for the part i want to be lit up, but where do i edit the gunspec to add the texture in?

You would have to find a shader that supports illumination. I am not sure if vanilla FPSC is able to handle it, but I know that it work with the mod Project Blue. It even supplies a shader that works.

I am sorry that I cant help more.

now just add a gun_I texture to your weapon folder, which part of gun should shine! I hope you know how you can create tex_i textures!
Gunspec.txt change the shader with this one!
