I use DarkShader to add some shade effects to my entities,
i followed the DarkShader_Demo movie file included in the "Freaks and Abominations model pack". and I also used darkshader_template file.
So after I got my shade right, I exported it to .fx and applied it to my entities, but somehow, they all look the same...

Please Help!

The Shadersystem in FPSC follows its own abstract rules. Thats why Bond1's workarounds and shader effects are such a big deal to us.

You need a certain amount of knowledge to get a shader working in FPSCreator... you can't just mix something in Dark Shader and expect it to work then.... that would be easy and where would be the fun in that.

I use trial and error with my effects so I bet it would help for people who actually know what they are doing if you showed us what you did in darkshader or maybe upload the .FX file?

As Wolf said, FPSC has it's own rules when it comes to shaders, and not even those included with DarkShader are guaranteed to work (though the majority do). What kind of entity effect are you looking to achieve?

I want my entities to be more "shiny", so when some light sheds on them, it'll give it some more "smooth" effect

I'm looking to do the same thing. I want my model to have a shiny plastic like look. Like a billard ball.

Right now all I can get is a flat looking sphere.

That could better be achieved with some of bond's existing shaders, and utilizing normal and illumination maps well, rather than creating your own shader.

You can get the files from this thread.

Make sure you follow the link in his first post to his youtube channel as well and watch his video explaining how to use his shaders and also how to create proper maps. Browse his channel for all his vidoes on normal mapping and such. He explains everything very clearly.
