Hi,

I need someone to help me create a list of features for FPS Creator.

Instead of me trawling through the forum I thought it best to ask here first because I'm sure someone who is deeply rooted in using FPSC would be more than keen to help out.

I need someone who can create a simple word document that has headings and a list of topic features under each heading.

Who would like to volunteer?

not me, but wanted to add...

I think an Excel [CSV] file would do the job better...

Better for you to manipulate at later dates...

Hi Rick,

Just to be certain. Do you mean a feature list of the current build of FPS Creator?

Just a thought, Rick. Did you consider contacting Scene Commander since he is working on FPSC updates and knows (or should know) what the features are in the current version.

If Scene Commander needs someone to help put in a document format you want, tell him to email myself. Cathy and I can put it together if he has limited time. We don't mind helping out.

Hi guys,

I've replied to Rick and I'm just waiting to hear back from him about something, but I'm generally happy to find some time to do this.

new users, and also some longterm users, would never get a picture of what the engine is capable of and what features are in it in present day, i think even SC and also Lee not knowing all the details, its all spread over the forums in diverse threads.

i have collected a lot of things that interested me over the time i use this (not that long, but i digged down every subforum up to page 20+), so i will collect the texts and links and send it to you, rick. great idea that some official will start doing this, as we try it sometimes, the threads get lost somewhere in this forum when not stickied.

btw. this should definitely not be a simple list of features but a link-collection to the tutorials and threads.

Hi maho76,

Sounds like you have a decent sized list. Could you share it in this thread for all to see?

I think a Google document that is shared between those who want to help construct it will make sense.

Sounds like Maho76 already has this in hand, so I'll just add the few remaining features from requests I've collected in more or less order of popularity.

Left hand and Duel wielding.
Terrain, larger maps.
Improved memory consumption.
Faster level loading/reloading.
Multiple Character weapons.
3rd person.
Improved physics.
Tracers/Laser beams.
Flak in multiplayer.
Level of Detail system.
Timescale - for slow motion, etc.
Real time shadows.
Improved lightmapping
Image huds for ammo/health, etc rather than the numeric system.
Hud fade direction.
Mini Map.
Random spawn locations.
Inventory system.
Hold to zoom.
Windowed mode.

I don't have any more from my request list, bt I'm sure others can think for things.

i had just hold the features and tuts i was interested in, so i may have only half needed, but i will forward it to you, give me 2 days to bring it into readable form.

btw: many features and possibilities are collected in the community guide, a book most of us have forgotten (or never seen^^).

@wolf: look the bone, yeah good boy! take it! take it!

if you want to and also that you have much more experience with the engine than i do, send me your stuff or some catchwords via mail, and i will forward it with mine. concentrate on your modelwork, i am stuck with my project atm so this is a nice thing to catch some more ideas.

Left hand and Duel wielding that's me a must. i wish it could be put in 120 or someone could just make a mod of it only.

so this list will not be a future feature list, just a list of actual features, added script-systems and solutions/tutorials for workarounds by the community.

wishlist > fpsc feature creep subforum.

Would it be possible to have read-only access to the feature list?

I'm sure those supporting mods would like to take advantage of the list for inspiration or to help prototype some of the features
