For some reason, every thing I put in line one always returns a syntax error, even a comment or blank. What can I do? Thanks

1st time i hear that.
is that happens when u execute your application after u compile?
if so, check the following:

1) check your graphic card support on the current screen resulution of your app that u trying to execute
2) check all the DX9.0c dlls (try to re-install it in that case)
3) check your graphic card driver (try to re-install it too)

cuz it looks like the problem is with rendering the screen.

Advanced Updater for your games!

Sounds more like the rogue dba file issue... simply create a new dba file copy what you require from the one that is causing you issues and then recompile...

If it was the display issue it would throw a specific Display not available at line 0... if as you say it is saying something else... I think we should ask for a screen shot of the screens or messages you receive...

Hope that helps...
