Does anyone have any experience with any sort of online registration code? Say if I only wanted registered users to be able to run my game, and only allow each user to have one instance of the game running at any given time, how would I do that from within DBP?

Any ideas would be great!

Umm set up a MySQL database and use PHP to communicate with it...

NEVER DIRECTLY LINK TO A WEB DATABASE FROM WITHIN AN APPLICATION

I plan to create a project which allows users to utilise a web database and provide the DBP code with a single PHP page to process all the transactions...

I hope to get this completed before the end of the year... [Sorting out SSL related things first... not a cheap endeavour]

Why? The library I use allows the use of parameterized queries, is that acceptable?

Is your login information submitted by the application?

Is so, then this login information is traceable via the end users local network... unless you are using some form of secure connection... like SSL...

Ah, I see your point MrValentine. I'll get on implementing SSL log-in right away.

I am useless at PHP, so I'm gonna have to do quite a bit of reading, it seems...

I wrote somewhere earlier that I have plans for a solution for everyone on here looking for a database solution with PHP and DBP code... I am having a hard time with the DBP code... but hopefully someone can suss that bit out... but I reckon an SSL certificate will fix the issue... [just cost issues holding me back... they are not cheap...]

PHP is not overly complicated really...

Grab the basics over at http://w3schools.com/php/default.asp I have some decent books but most of what you need should be there...

If you require hosting, just ask anytime

I've got the hosting all sorted, but thanks for the offer! And thank you for the link! That should help out greatly!
