well this is probably a dumb question and I have seen how to do it someplace but I could not find it in the manual or with search and I don't remember how to do it so here goes

How do you put one entity on top of another such as a lamp on a desk? I try this and the lamp entity wants to sit on the floor under the desk.

I am building a small level. I am trying to make it a look kind of good but the level is mainly so I can get some things in a level then try to make some scripts I have ideas for. One thing leads to another and I am trying to get lamps on a desk when I don't even need to. I guess that is how you learn though LOL!

Thanks

It worked if I wanted to put it on the floor. I found in the manual that if you wanted to move it up or down use pgup or pgdown I did that got it to desktop level hit enter and I had a lamp on a desk

To put an entity directly on another entity: Hold the entity over the entity you want it on, press enter, then left click.

To adjust the height of an entity, or to fine-tune where the entity is: Right click on the entity, and then you can use page up/page down to adjust height. You can then also use the arrow keys to adjust horizontal position.

When you want to place entities on top of others (such as a lamp on a desk), ENTER will snap it to floor or on top of another entity. Using a lamp to place on a table for example, make sure that you are directly over top the desk in the editor when you move the lamp under the desk before pressing ENTER to snap the lamp on top. Some entities are not centered properly and that may cause a bit of a headache. If you are not over top, you may not get it placed properly.

Also, make sure you set "IsImmobile" to yes if you don't want it to fall (dynamic entities) as some entities seem to fall off the desk unless this flag is set.

There's no problem that can't be solved without applying a little scripting.
