Hello everyone i plan to make a game and also i want to make 2 versions of it. One for slow machines and another for fast ones. FOr fast machines i plan to use shaders. I saw demo video for pack 22 and videos that showed that DarkSHADER can be used for segments and entitys as well. Having this thoughs i want ask:

How do i use this .fx files inside FPSC? I mean do i go to segment/entity properities and find field called shader? (Havent done that yet)

Another question.

I wanted to put music into my level so i placed sound zone and extended it across all level. In the field that says sound i placed my music. But when i tested music wasnt there. I used .ogg format.

Note: Does all music has to be in audiobank folder? Because i had music file in defferent location, outside FPSC folder. And also is there any script that alows music to play non stop?


In my defence want to say that im very new to FPSC, today i was messing with segments and placing enemies and stuff...

Hope to see FPSC 2 some day dont give up on it guys

Yes all audio does have to be in the audio bank.

Just thought I'd mention, you may not need to make two games. If you pack your games with the vishnu packer (free) found here: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=159861&b=21 you can have the option for the player to change the graphic settings before beginning the game.



However, it doesn't include a disable/enable shader option, which is what you said would be a specific difference.

About the fx. files, they are listed under the effect bank field. Many things already have shaders applied, but I'm not really sure about fx. files and the like.

Audio has to be in the audiobank, as said above. About the script that allows the music to play nonstop, its called repeatsound.fpi. I don't know if its a stock script or something I've picked up, so here it is:

Ty for the program you showed me. I might still use it for both, you know stalker games had 4 different renders and quility of the game. Let me explain:

Renderers were:
Static Lightning
Object .... Lightning(dont remember)
Dynamic Lightning
Enhanced Dynamic Lightning(DirectX9)
Note:
Later stalker games had
Enhanced Full Dynamic Lightning(DirectX10 and 11)

And the game quality options standart:
Minimal
Low
Medium
High
Maximum
Extreme.

So as you see player could have static light and game settings on maximum.Maybe that is the way i could make 2 version of the game.

About shaders. So you are saying that entities have a field for shaders in their options. Ok then Thank you for the script buddy
